Inca is the third largest town of Majorca and is located in the heart of the island. While it is mainly a residential and industrial town, its famous market as well as bodegas attract numerous tourists. After Palma, it is one of the best connected cities on the island thanks to the train and public transport system. For those who have their own car, Inca is situated just a short distance from the main motorway that runs along the island, making it an excellent place for those who want to explore the island. From Inca it is very easy to reach the coastline in the north of the island. Inca's main attraction is undoubtedly its weekly market which takes place every Thursday. It is one of the largest markets on the island, filling the streets of the city centre with small stalls. Although it is mainly known as a market with a wide variety of leather products (known as the leather and fur capital of Mallorca), you will also find foodstuffs and other types of products. Inca is also where Mallorca's biggest autumn fair takes place, La "Dijous Bo" - an agricultural fair turned into a festival with firework displays and live music. Inca's streets are lined with cafés and terrace bars, but its renovated wine cellars converted into cosy little restaurants have become the town's flagship.
