Port Andratx - the harbour of the beautiful and rich

The town is located at a wonderful natural harbour at the outer southwestern part of the island, the sea winds itself like a fjord deep into the land. Here, the Tramuntana mountains are rising up above the sea. Around the harbour, there are 8 mountain peaks with between 300 and 900 metres height.

Although the city itself offers no beach, the visitors get compensated: on the right hand of the romantic bay, there is the yacht and sailing harbour and on the left site, there are many cafés and restaurants, whose chairs and tables are directly next to the water. At the end of the bay, at the entrance to the city, the commercial harbour can be found, where daily many fisher boats arrive. Until today, the port of Andratx is an important place for fishing.

Fantastic gastronomy offerings

The culinary offer is very wide and good in the port: first class is the Trespais, the Rocamar Port Andratx or the Oliu.

Recommendable is also the restaurant in the sailing club, Club de Vela Puerto Andratx, where you can dine high above the port with a view on all the yachts and speed boats. Most of the restaurants are directly on the first sea line, like the Cappuchino Café or the famous Tim’s Bar, a real institution at the harbour. Others, like the best Italian, the Media Luna, are a bit further away from the harbour.

Especially shopping fans like it here: fashion is hip and one boutique is more elegant than the other. Nearly every internationally renowned label can be found at the harbour. Among these very trendy bikinis (i.e. The Bikini Shop). Not only fashion but also art friends can find something here. Just recently a branch, of the famous Galery K from Palma just opened in Puerto Andratx for high qualitative international art pieces.
